Prerequisites

Hopefully you had some time before this workshop to install the prerequisite software and get subscription keys for Cognitive Services and Speech Servcies. In case you didn’t, here’s what you’ll need.

Software

  1. Python 3.5.2 or later
  2. Git tools
  3. An IDE or text editor, such as Visual Studio Code or Atom
    Note: Testers ran into issues with PyCharm. It has Flask dependencies, which are not covered in this workshop.
  4. Chrome or Firefox

Subscription keys

In case you haven’t had time to get keys, we have two that are valid for the next 7 days. Make note of these, you’ll need these throughout the workshop. If you have your own keys, you can skip this step.

  1. A Cognitive Services subscription key in the West US region.
  2. A Speech Services subscription key in the West US region.

Sign-up for an Azure account

After this workshop, you’ll want to use these instructions to create an Azure account and get your own subscription keys.
